Stede Bonnet – Rhys Darby
In the Film, Rhys Darby Portrays Stede Monnet, a Wealthy Landowner from Barbados Who abandoned his Noble Life to Become a Pirate.
In the first season, Bonnet sailed the high seas, gathering a motley crew of seamen and falling in love with Edward “Ed” Teach, a fellow pirate captain (also known as Blackbeard). The pair’s relationship has been called into doubt going into Season 2, as Stede longs for his former life.

Taika Waititi – Edward “ed” Teach/Blackbeard

Frenchie Joel Fry

Lucius Spriggs – Nathan Foad
The Revenge’s scribe is Nathan Foad’s character, Luccius Spriggs. He records the exploits of the ship and acts as a sounding board for his captain, Stede Bonnet, oftentimes assisting Stede in processing his emotions.
Additionally, Foad appears in Bloods, Dope Fiend, Newark, and Newark.

Jim Jimenez – Vico Ortiz
Jim Jimenez is Oluwande Boodhari’s current lover and another member of the Revenge team. Jim, portrayed by Vico Ortiz, disguises himself as mute and boards the Revenge with his close buddy Oluwande. He joins Blackbeard’s crew at the end of Season 1 and becomes a formidable combatant who is also wanted in Season 2.
Actor and activist Ortiz is a Latina/x non-binary/gender fluid Puerto Rican, most recognized for her roles in Transparent on Prime Video and The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Wee John Feeney by Kristian Nairn
Wee John Feeney, played by Kristian Nairn, is as enigmatic as they come on the Revenge. Although not much is known about his past, he is nonetheless regarded as an important part of Stede’s crew of sailors. Whether the crew likes it or not, Wee John is the Revenge’s demolition specialist because he has shown a fondness for everything that goes “BOOM!”
In addition to his roles in Ripper Street and The Appearance, Nairn is most recognized for his tenure as Hodor on HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Badminton Captain Nigel Rory Kinnear
Captain Nigel Badminton, a British Naval Captain entrusted with eliminating as many pirates as he can, is portrayed by Rory Kinnear.
Nigel was the main enemy of Stede and the Revenge crew for the majority of Season 1, however, he tragically committed suicide by falling onto his sword. After his death, his ghost continued to be present in the first season, but he hasn’t made an appearance in Season 2.
Among Kinnear’s previous credits are the Daniel Craig-led James Bond movie and Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Imitation Game.

Israel “IZZY” Hands – Con O’Neill
One of the main adversaries in Our Flag Means Death Season 1 is Israel “Izzy” Hands.
Izzy is portrayed by Con O’Neill as Blackbeard’s second-in-command, and she briefly leads the Revenge when Blackbeard and Stede are exiled in Season 1. At the conclusion of the first batch of episodes, the character regains control of the Revenge and returns as Blackbeard’s first mate in Season 2.

Calico Jack/jack Rackham, Played by Will Arnett
Will Arnett is Jack Rackham, often known as Calico Jack, a deposed captain who once served under Captain Hornigold with Blackbeard.
In a Season 1 episode, Jack makes an appearance and, after killing Karl the Seagull, causes a brief split between Blackbeard and Stede. Jack was unintentionally injured by a warning shot and ultimately perished at the hands of the English.
