Beau Demayo ‘X-Men ’97’ Creator, Fired Unexpectedly Without Informing Fans!

At Marvel Studios earlier this month, Beau DeMayo was experiencing an exceptionally hectic period. As a continuation of the renowned ’90s Fox Kids series, the writer-producer was making preparations for the premiere of X-Men ’97, a Disney+ series he had created.

DeMayo, a Marvel veteran who had previously written for the live-action series Moon Knight and early drafts of the company’s delayed-but-still-upcoming vampire thriller Blade, had finished writing season two of X-Men ’97, was lining up press, and was planning to attend the show’s Hollywood premiere on March 13. He was even brainstorming possibilities for a third season with members of his crew.

Variety has confirmed that Beau DeMayo, the showrunner and executive producer of the forthcoming Disney+ animated series “X-Men ’97,” has been dismissed before the March 20 premiere.

DeMayo had concluded his contributions to Seasons 1 and 2 of “X-Men ’97” before his departure. He has decided not to attend the Hollywood premiere of the program on March 13. Additionally, his Instagram page, where he provided artwork previews and responded to user inquiries regarding “X-Men ’97,” has been removed.

“X-Men ’97,” a continuation of the popular “X-Men: The Animated Series” that broadcast on Fox Kids in the 1990s, was written and produced by him. The reason for DeMayo’s dismissal from “X-Men ’97” so close to the premiere remains unknown; however, he will no longer be engaged in promotional activities or future seasons of the show.

In addition, DeMayo discussed the upcoming feature film “Blade,” starring Mahershala Ali, and the companion Marvel andDisney+ series “Moon Knight,” starring Oscar Isaac. His other credits include two animated “League of Legends” shorts, “Absolution” and “Before Dawn,” the live-action Netflix series “The Witcher,” starring Henry Cavill, and the animated film “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.”

Homecoming For Several Stars

More than 30 years after the series finale, a number of the original cast members of “X-Men: The Animated Series” are making a comeback for “X-Men ’97.” The new series continues where the Saturday morning cartoon from the 1990s left off: Professor Charles Xavier is thought to be dead, and Magneto, his bitter nemesis, has taken possession of his last will.

In a world that fears them, the X-Men—Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Jubilee, Beast, Gambit, Morph, Bishop, and more—must also fight new enemies.
