CBS has officially approved a “Young Sheldon” spinoff series focusing on Georgie and Mandy for the 2024–2025 broadcast season. Montana Jordan and Emily Osment will return to their roles in the upcoming season, focusing on Georgie and Mandy as they start a family in Texas.
The sitcom will be a multi-camera comedy, unlike “Young Sheldon,” which is a single-camera. The project was initially mentioned in January. Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland created the new series. The three individuals were the production team for both “Young Sheldon” and the original sitcom “The Big Bang Theory.”
The spinoff series “Young Sheldon” is currently running its seventh and last season. The last season began on February 15 after being postponed due to the production halt resulting from the concurrent strikes by writers and actors in 2023. Lorre, Molaro, and Holland expressed their appreciation for the unique environment of the Cooper family from ‘The Big Bang Theory’ to ‘Young Sheldon’.
“We are thrilled to further develop their narratives from the perspectives of Georgie and Mandy.” Lorre, Molaro, and Holland are all executive producers of the spin-off series. Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. collaborates with Warner Bros. Television to generate content. The spinoff series ensures Lorre’s continued presence at CBS. Lorre has had a series on a broadcast network every year since 2003.
Over the last two decades, he has collaborated on and overseen the production of television shows for the network, such as the enduring successes “The Big Bang Theory,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Mom,” and “Young Sheldon.” Alchemy Entertainment and Brecheen Feldman Breimer are Jordan’s representatives. CAA, Entertainment 360, and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel are the agencies that represent Osment.
