Young Sheldon EP Says [Spoiler] Will Reappear In The Final Season, Maybe Giving A “Nod” To The Big Bang Theory

Executive producer Steve Holland of Young Sheldon confirmed to TVLine in March 2024 that Tam will be returning in the show’s final season. Tam is an acquaintance from Sheldon Cooper’s childhood who made his debut appearance in the second episode of Young Sheldon. Holland stated that there will be a reference to Tam’s storyline in The Big Bang Theory.

Holland has expressed that he believes Sheldon’s father, George Sr.,’s death in season 7 will be a crucial incident that influences Sheldon’s character development in Big Bang. Young Sheldon will reunite with a familiar character from previous seasons before the show ends this spring. Executive producer Steve Holland discloses to TVLine that Tam will return. Tam was the inaugural character from Young Sheldon to transition to Big Bang.

Robert Wu from Survivor’s Remorse played the adult version of the character in a Season 12 episode, and he appeared to explain how Tam ended up on Sheldon’s list of enemies. Tam married his fiancée Beth, and they had children, including a son who was thinking about going to Caltech when Tam and Sheldon met again in 2018.

Holland mentioned that Tam’s return to Young Sheldon in its seventh and final season will acknowledge what was shown in Big Bang. Young Sheldon is presently broadcast on CBS on Thursdays at 8/7c. The 14-episode final season will end with a one-hour series finale on May 16. The airdate for Tam’s return has not been disclosed yet.
