A Gentleman in Moscow is a new TV show coming to Paramount+.
This big period drama is based on Amor Towles’s historical book A Gentleman in Moscow. It’s about Count Rostov, who finds that his once-privileged life puts him on the wrong side of history after the Russian Revolution. He is tried by a Soviet court, but instead of being put to death, he is sent to the fancy Hotel Metropol and told he will die if he ever tries to leave. Years go by, and Rostov starts a new life inside the hotel. Outside, though, decades of troubled events play out. Stay tuned for more information about this upcoming fun event!
The Release Date for “A Gentleman in Moscow”
“A Gentleman In Moscow” is set to debut exclusively on Paramount Plus in the UK on Friday, March 29, 2024, just in time for Good Friday and Easter. The series will also be available on Paramount Plus in Canada, Australia, and through the Showtime plan on Paramount+ in the US.

The Plot of “A Gentleman in Moscow”
Set in 1922, the series follows aristocrat Count Alexander Rostov, portrayed by Ewan McGregor, who is spared execution and instead sentenced to ‘house arrest’ by a Bolshevik tribunal after the Russian Revolution. Forced to live in a small attic room in the luxurious Hotel Metropol, Rostov grapples with his newfound circumstances while witnessing decades of historical events unfold outside.
Amidst this, he embarks on a journey of emotional discovery, finding meaning in friendship, family, and love. Along the way, he forms unlikely bonds with a young girl named Nina (Alexa Goodall) and a film actress named Anna Urbanova (Mary Ann Winstead).

Produced by Lionsgate Television in association with Paramount, the series is directed and executive produced by BAFTA award-winning director and Emmy nominee Sam Miller. Miller, known for his work on “Surface” and “I May Destroy You,” brings his expertise to the project. The series is written by showrunner and executive producer Ben Vanstone, with additional executive producers including Harper, Xavier Marchand, Ewan McGregor, and the novel’s author, Amor Towles.
