‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Final Season Premiering Soon – Here’s When!

The fifth and final season of “Star Trek: Discovery” has been given a premiere date and will mark the end of the show’s run.

Season 5 will debut with two episodes in April on Paramount+ in various countries including the U.S., UK, Switzerland, South Korea, and others. Following the premiere, new episodes will be released weekly on Thursdays, with a total of 10 episodes planned for the final season.

The season’s official description reveals that Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery will embark on a mission to uncover a hidden ancient power across the galaxy. However, they will face dangerous adversaries who are also seeking to claim the prize for themselves.

The decision to end “Discovery” was announced in March 2023. Since its launch in 2017, the series has been a flagship for the modern “Star Trek” universe on Paramount+, previously known as CBS All Access. It paved the way for other series like “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and broke new ground by featuring a Black female protagonist and LGBTQIA+ characters.

The main cast for Season 5 includes Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, and others. Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise serve as co-showrunners and executive producers, alongside other key members of the production team.
