Residents of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota who meet the eligibility criteria have the chance to receive a grant of up to $50,000. This grant initiative stems from the Collective Abundance Fund, amounting to $7.9 million, established by the Native American rights group, NDN Collective. Applications for the grant will be open starting March 1.
Statement by NDN Collective
Gaby Strong, Managing Director of NDN, emphasized the purpose of the Collective Abundance Fund, stating, “The Collective Abundance Fund provides families with an opportunity to utilize the funds for long-term stability, as a means of healing and sustaining cultural lifeways and livelihoods, and as a vehicle to leverage the abundance inherent in our culture, knowledge, and surrounding assets.”
Target Recipients
The $50,000 grant is specifically designated for Indigenous individuals residing in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Borikén/Puerto Rico, and various U.S. Territories, including American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands.
