Will There Be Yellowstone Season 6? Everything You Need to Know

As Season 6 of the hit western drama “Yellowstone” nears its release, fans continue to immerse themselves in the high-stakes world of the Dutton family with anticipation and bittersweet enthusiasm. Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” has become a cultural phenomenon with its combination of familial dynamics, power struggles, and breathtaking landscapes. With the confirmation that Season 6 will conclude this epic narrative, let’s take a closer look at what to expect.

Yellowstone Season 6 Release Date

Season 6 of Yellowstone does not have a release date because it will not occur. The conclusion of Costner’s run on Yellowstone will not mark the conclusion of the narrative, but rather the conclusion of the series. The program is a ratings powerhouse that has helped Sheridan create not just a single hit, but an entire franchise centered on his name.

Yellowstone will conclude with the second half of season five, which is scheduled to premiere in November 2023, Paramount announced in May. Nonetheless, the story will continue in an untitled sequel scheduled to debut in December 2023.

Chris McCarthy, President & CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement, “Yellowstone has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits, from 1883 to Tulsa King, and I am confident our Yellowstone sequel will be another big hit, thanks to the brilliant creative mind of Taylor Sheridan and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life.”

Is Yellowstone Season 6 Canceled or Renewed?

There is no announcement that says, season 6 is canceled. After Part 2 of Season 5 airs on the Paramount Network, Yellowstone will come to an end. However, this wasn’t always the case.

At the Season 5 premiere of Rip Wheeler in New York City in 2022, the actor Cole Hauser confidently told People, “This is not the final season.” It is also noteworthy that series creator, showrunner, and writer Taylor Sheridan didn’t even attend the premiere because he was reportedly too occupied writing the Season 6 script.

Kevin Costner cast a little more light on Sheridan’s plans for Yellowstone’s future during a court hearing on September 1 pertaining to his divorce from Christine Baumgartner.

According to Deadline, Costner was asked at the hearing if he had been invited to return for Season 6 of the program.

The actor responded that it was “complicated,” but he did confess to discussing Season 6 with Sheridan. However, Costner ultimately asserted that “there were creative issues” and that he attempted to address them:

“We did engage in negotiations. There were problems with creativity. I attempted to break the impasse. “They departed.”

Costner also disclosed that he was scheduled to return to Yellowstone for both Season 6 and Season 7. During the hearing, the actor also disclosed that he would be paid $24 million for Seasons 5, 6, and 7.

Nonetheless, according to some reports, he was only supposed to be compensated for Seasons 6 and 7, as he had already been paid for Season 5 (which is still being filmed). According to Costner’s remarks, Yellowstone was expected to endure for decades. Due to the disparities between Costner and Sheridan, however, it will shortly come to an end.

Conclusion

As “Yellowstone” Season 6 approaches, fans are gripped by a bittersweet anticipation for the conclusion of the Dutton family saga. Taylor Sheridan’s creation has become a cultural phenomenon, blending familial dynamics, power struggles, and stunning landscapes. While Season 6 won’t materialize, the epic narrative will continue in a sequel, keeping the “Yellowstone” universe alive. Despite creative challenges, the show has left an indelible mark on television.

  1. This sucks that there won’t be a original season of Yellowstone. It’s been a show that my husband and I have loved to watch. Work on things with Kevin Costner so this can continue.

    • I think that just stupid theres not going to be season 6 you cant just ended like that you have to do another season to see happend with the people and to the land if the family won to keep the land or if they sold it or lost it you cant just leave it like that

      • I agree. I’ve been waiting to see what happens !! It’s killing me 😔. Please 🙏 don’t leave us hanging like this!!

  2. This can’t stop this is one of the best shows ever on TV I’ve seen ! I am waiting for season six. I cannot wait. I do not watch much TV but I’ll tell you what I’m glued this show. It is damn good.

  3. It has been my most loved series on TV and I will really be disgusted if it ends. Kevin Costner is one of the best actors in this show and would not be the same without him. Please bring it back soon!!!

  4. This has been the best show ever.
I drive a truck an got all 5 seasons, an enjoy watching them very much.
    This needs to continue please

  5. I hope this isn’t a case of the creator becoming hard to deal with since the show has become a monster hit. If he and Costner have “creative differences” that are untenable that is a shame.
Costner is the centerpiece of a great cast but I have read in the past where he can be stubborn when involved in the writing.
I hope they work it out but egos will kill a project faster than a bad script.

  6. We are really getting tired of series that wortha darn suddenly get dropped or canceled because of nit piking between producers writer and actors. You have a great thibg going here and it truely shows the struggles that everyday citizens deal with when government, politics and spoiled rich people get invloved and want to take the working peoples land for their own greed. We want a season 6 and how ever many more seasons it takes to finally have the working class come out on top for once and Kevin Costner is the man for the part so get it together and bring us what we need so bad

  7. Please , make things right and work out something that everyone is happy with and continue the show. Please don’t be selfish and leave fans hanging

  8. My daughter & I love this show! I want some Yellowstone gear like I’m apart of the Dutton ranch & family. 🧡
There has to be a season 6. The end of season 5 left us with more anticipation than when we watched the 1st episode.

  9. Maybe you should ask biden for advice, his series never ends! Hope you can see if you don’t finish it, you will go the way of bud light!

  10. Ya it would be cancel or Kevin leaving after I buy a bunch of shirts that my luck and why can’t yellowstone go on and see if it would make it because I would watch it

  11. I don’t care what anyone says about these two smart goodlooking and in love 4-Ever they will be, I would have loved to go and have a GREAT time at the Full Throttle Saloon. And would have been a GREAT HONOR TO MEET THESE 2 PEOPLE EVER. I’D LIKE TO SAY TO THEM THANK YOU FOR BEING THE REAL DOWN TO EARTH PEOPLE I’VE SEEN ON TV. AND AM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU ARE STILL Together. Also CONGRADULATIONS ANGIE I BET YOU ARE THE BEST MOM IN THE WORLD. NOW AS FOR JESSE, Why did he continue to put himself in danger, didn’t he ever think about how bad it would have HURT both of you if he hadn’t survived those CRAZY STUNTS. HE IS SUCH A BRAT.
