William Lipton Set to Reprise Role on ‘General Hospital’!

Guess who’s making a nostalgic return to Port Charles next week? William Lipton is dusting off his acting chops for a brief stint on General Hospital, reprising his role as Cameron Webber. Last seen in early 2023 when the character bid adieu for college, Cameron is back in town due to the unsettling news that his best friend, Spencer, is presumed dead.

In a dramatic turn of events on the January 31 episode, Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) apparently fell off a boat, sparking fears of drowning among fans. The fate of Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) is also left hanging in suspense.

Now, here’s the spoiler alert everyone saw coming: Spencer is likely not fish food. In reality, Chavez is on a hiatus, tackling the role of Lyle Menendez in the upcoming Netflix limited series, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.”

William Lipton Set to Reprise Role on 'General Hospital'!

While the premiere is set for late this year, the return date for Chavez to GH remains uncertain. On a bittersweet note, Prince is bidding farewell to the soap for good.

In the interim, fans can relish the silver lining of Chavez’s absence – the homecoming of William Lipton. A GH stalwart since 2018, Lipton grew up on the soap, much like his Emmy-winning colleague Eden McCoy.

Lipton originally took on the role of Cameron, and when he took his leave in 2023, GH reassured fans on social media that “Cameron will be back before you know it!” Now, the moment is finally here as Lipton steps back into the shoes of Cameron Webber, injecting a dose of nostalgia into the ever-evolving drama of General Hospital.
