There are two release dates for The Crown’s sixth season! That’s correct, Netflix has officially announced that the Emmy-winning drama’s final season will be split into two parts.

Part 1 of season 6 is slated for release worldwide on November 16; part 2 of season 6 is planned to release on December 14. For the first time, a season of The Crown will be split on Netflix, but it appears that the narratives the season will tell will determine how it is divided.

The Crown Season 6 Plot
Season 6 focuses on events that occurred between 1997 and 2005, essentially covering Tony Blair’s term. The first four episodes of Season 6’s Part I will show Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed’s romance developing before a tragic vehicle accident has disastrous results.
Salim Daw and Khalid Abdalla will also be reprising their roles as Prince Charles and Princess Diana, respectively, with Elizabeth Debicki. Together with Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Imelda Staunton is returning to her role as Queen Elizabeth II.
Rufus Kampa as Prince William and Fflyn Edwards as Prince Harry are making their film debuts. The last chapter, which debuted as season 6 part 2 in December, spans six episodes and follows Prince William as he attempts to adjust to life at Eton after the loss of his mother while the monarchy rides the tide of popular sentiment.
The marriage of Charles and Camilla and the start of a new Royal fairytale with William and Kate will also play a significant role in the Queen’s reflections on the future of the monarchy as the series draws to a close. Ed McVey and Luther Ford are going to play Prince William and Prince Harry in Part 2.
In the sixth season, Imelda Staunton will return to her position as the Queen. The new series of the show won’t reportedly continue past the early 2000s, so contemporary occurrences like Prince Andrew’s decline in popularity and Harry and Meghan’s move to the US won’t be included.
The 2011 wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton is also anticipated to have occurred too late to be included in the sixth season; however, season 6 of The Crown will undoubtedly cover a number of significant subjects, not the least of which is the Queen Mother’s and Princess Margaret’s 2002 deaths.
