Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 3 Episode 4 Ending
After the play is finished, Mizuhara enthusiastically recounts every detail of the entire event. Umi only needs to listen to her speak for her to realize that inviting her to the performance was a smart move. Mizuhara expresses sorrow and sympathy that Umi’s partner Nanao couldn’t attend the performance because she was ill as they make their way back.
But it turns out that Umi was not truthful with Mizuhara. He confesses to having lied to her before telling her that he had broken up with her a week earlier, which is why she was unable to attend the performance. Umi, who is extremely interested in plays, is actually happy that he brought Mizuhara along with him instead.
Mizuhara’s alarm sounds while he is complimenting her, and she realizes that she needs to go to the Shinjuku station to hand out fliers for the crowdfunding. She explains to Umi her responsibility and how hard everyone else is working to achieve her dreams. She needs to leave, so.
But Umi discloses that he has actually reserved a table for them so that they can have a meal. It turns out that he has actually reserved a table for two at a prestigious restaurant and genuinely wants Mizuhara to join him. Eventually, Mizuhara declines his kind offer and goes back to Shinjuku.
But before she departs, Umi confronts her about her love for Kazuya. Mizuhara merely responds incoherently by stating that she neither acknowledges nor denies liking her neighbor after being questioned numerous times. However, it is obvious from her words that she genuinely respects what Kazuya has done for her and considers him to be one of her closest confidants.
Kazuya is glad Mizuhara came back when they meet up later to distribute the flyers. Kazuya is still worried that something transpired between her and Umi. Mizuhara stands up for herself and says he shouldn’t think anything is amiss.
