The 72nd Miss USA pageant, known as Miss USA 2023, took place at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, on September 29, 2023. At the conclusion of the competition, Morgan Romano of North Carolina crowned Noelia Voigt of Utah as her successor.
Voigt will compete for the United States in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant. The CW website and mobile app aired this edition of the pageant, which was the first to be hosted under the management of fashion designer Layla Rose.

Ultimately, on September 29, at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Miss Utah Noelia Voigt was proclaimed the 2023 Miss USA winner after all. The top three finishers were Miss Wisconsin Alexis Loomans, Miss Pennsylvania Jasmine Daniels, and Miss Texas Lluvia Alzate.
The runner-up was Miss Hawaii Savannah Gankiewicz. Throughout the show’s question period, Noelia honored her identity as a Venezuelan-American. Successor to last year’s winner of the pageant, R’Bonney Gabriel, who was elected Miss Universe 2022, is Morgan Romano of North Carolina. Romano assumed the title in January.
Selection Of Contestants
Beginning with this particular edition of the contest, the Miss Universe Organization declared that mothers and married women will be permitted to participate. The 1957 revision to the ruling followed its initial application in the pageant’s first five editions.
State pageants, which started in September 2022 and are slated to end in August 2023, select delegates from each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The schedule for state pageants can get very busy between the final state pageant held in 2022.
Idaho hosted the first state pageant on September 11, 2022, while New York is the last state pageant, with a scheduled date of August 6, 2023. In April 2023, Maine tied the knot, becoming the first married Miss USA state titleholder in 66 years.
There were nine previous state winners who held the title of Miss Teen USA, two previous Miss World America state winners, one previous Miss America’s Outstanding Teen state winner, three previous Miss America state winners, and one previous Miss Supranational Zambia winner.
Miss USA 2023 Judges
Vivica A. Fox, Luann de Lesseps, a former Real Housewife, and well-known beauty YouTuber Patrick Starrr were among the judges for this esteemed event. The President and CEO of the Miss USA Organization, Laylah Rose, sought to infuse this 70-year-old custom with a contemporary and forward-thinking vibe.
Significantly, there was a ground-breaking alteration in this year’s Miss USA. Juliana Morehouse-Locklear of Maine was the first married state titleholder. Following in her footsteps is Noelia Voigt, the 2022 Miss USA winner, who is Morgan Romano from North Carolina.
