Dave is going to take a break.
The FXX comedy “presses pause” to work on other things, so there are “no current plans” for a fourth season. Dave Burd made the show and stars in it.
It’s no secret that Burd, whose stage name is Lil Dicky, loves music and wants to make more CDs. Last month, Penith, the soundtrack to Dave, with the song “Mr. McAdams,” came out.
He said to TheWrap, “Making Dave has been and still is a dream come true.” I’m also very excited about other creative projects I want to work on. I’ve put everything I have into the show for the past five years. Now that there have been three great seasons, I think it’s time to take a break so I can do some other things I’ve always wanted to do. I’m so excited about what I have planned for the future, and I’m so grateful to FX for continuing to work with me.

Dave will be back for a fourth season in March 2020. Based on his real life, the show is about a man in his late 20s who is neurotic and thinks he’s going to be one of the greatest singers of all time.
In June 2021, the second season began, and in April 2023, the third.
People have called the move a “Curb Your Enthusiasm-style break,” which comes from the long breaks between seasons of the Larry David show, which, ironically, was co-created by Jeff Schaffer of Curb.
If Dave doesn’t come back, he will have left on a high note with the Season 3 finale starring Brad Pitt and Rachel McAdams [SPOILER ALERT].
Burd, Taylor Misiak, Andrew Santino, GaTa, Travis Bennett, and Christine Ko are some of the actors in the show.
Saladin Patterson, Kevin Hart for Hartbeat Productions, Scooter Braun for SB Projects, Greg Mottola, Marty Bowen, James Shin, Scott Manson for SB Projects, and Mike Hertz are some of the people who help Burd and Schaffer make movies. The show is made by FX Productions.
As per Variety“There are no plans for a fourth season of Dave right now,” an FX spokesman said. “After some back and forth, Dave Burd has decided to take a long break to focus on music and other projects.” “Now, that doesn’t mean that we can’t do something in the future.” We enjoyed the show and are grateful to Dave, Jeff Schaffer, the cast, and the crew for making each episode so creative. We’re happy that our relationship with Dave will continue as he works on new projects for us as part of his total production deal with FXP.
