Coronation Street fans, brace yourselves because Violet Wilson, played by Jenny Platt, is making a comeback to the cobbles! If you remember, Violet, who’s Dylan Wilson’s mom, was last spotted in 2011 when Sean Tully, played by Antony Cotton, dropped by for a visit in London.
But even before that, her last stint on the Street was way back in 2008, when she left Weatherfield to start afresh with Jamie Baldwin. Now, Antony Cotton, who plays Sean, spilled the beans, saying they’ve been trying to get Jenny back for a while now, especially since she’s Dylan’s mom. Apparently, Sean even keeps in touch with them off-screen, paying visits and staying over.
Antony is buzzing with excitement about Jenny’s return, reflecting on how much has changed since she was last seen on the show. He’s thrilled to see his friend back on screen and reminisces about the old times, when they shot fewer episodes and the internet was hardly a thing. Crazy how times have changed, right?
Violet’s return couldn’t come at a better time, as Dylan’s involvement in Liam’s bullying is about to be exposed. As Liam faces the consequences of his actions in the coming months, Violet is gearing up to support her son through it all.
Now, here’s the kicker – Jenny’s return is temporary, at least for now. When he confides in Maria Connor about his struggles and reluctance to go to school, Maria takes matters into her own hands, meeting with the headteacher to address the situation.
So, with Violet back in town and Liam’s bullying ordeal reaching a boiling point, it’s safe to say that things are about to get even more dramatic on the cobbles of Coronation Street. Will Violet’s return bring some much-needed support for Dylan and Liam? We’ll just have to stay tuned to find out.
