Apple TV+ announced a season two for hit thriller “Hijack,” Idris Elba might get stuck on another bad plane ride.
Hijack, a show from George Kay (Lupin, Criminal) and Jim Field Smith (Criminal, Litvinenko), has been picked up for a second season by Apple TV+. The gritty details are now available.
The Nielsen Streaming Originals Top 10 list made the first season one of the best stories on the service. Along with Archie Panjabi, Ben Miles from The Crown, and Max Beesley, Elba played Sam Nelson, a skilled business negotiator who had to use his skills to save the lives of people on a stolen plane headed to London.
Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash of 60Forty Films will be executive producers of the second season of Hijack. Kay and Field Smith’s production company Idiotlamp Productions will also be executive producers. Field Smith is also in charge of directing the show.

“I was shocked by how quickly people responded to Season 1,” Elba, who is also an executive producer on the show, said. “No one knows what’s going on with Sam Nelson right now, but I can promise you that we will bring the high octane back.”
