Tyson Retired Because of A Promise He Made Her
Tyson put up his gloves in Paris and announced his retirement plans for April 2022. The announcement followed his heavyweight title defense against Dillian Whyte at London’s Wembley Stadium.
“I promised my lovely wife of 14 years, Paris, that after the [Deontay] Wilder III fight, that would be it — and I meant it,” he told BT Sport after the bout.
According to the champion, he felt compelled to defend his title against Wilder at Wembley, but his turn had come to an end. “I must keep my pledge, and I believe that this may be the final curtain for the Gypsy King. And what an exit!” he continued.
Paris told the outlet that she “would like him to come out” of the game “now” and that she believes her spouse “has nothing more to prove,” according to CNN.
She stated, “If he had anything left to do, I would tell him, ‘Yeah, Tyson, do it.'” “Therefore, unless he truly desires to continue boxing, and if he’s only doing it for money or renown, he has no need for that. Tonight, he is the most renowned man on the planet.”
For Tyson to continue boxing, there seems to be only one reason, and I know in my heart that the only reason Tyson will return is for the unification bout.
