Mr. Springsteen made the tragic announcement of his mother’s passing via Instagram on Thursday. Despite the absence of a cause of death, Ms. Springsteen had been afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease for over a decade.

Bruce Springsteen’s Lovely Relation with Adela
Regarding his relationship with his mother and her impact on him, her son has been candid. He stated in 2021 during his Broadway performance “Bruce on Broadway,” which lasted for more than two months as the city began to recover from pandemic-related closures, that Ms. Springsteen rented him his first guitar when he was seven years old. Adele Zerilli, the mother of Ms. Springsteen, was born in Brooklyn on May 4, 1925. Following her marriage to Douglas Springsteen in 1949, she gave birth to a boy and subsequently two daughters, Virginia and Pamela.
In Freehold, New Jersey, she raised a young working-class family while working as a legal secretary, while her husband battled mental illness and frequently struggled to find regular employment. 1998 saw his death.
