Coolio Cause of Death
Rapper “Gangsta’s Paradise” died in September at the age of 59. A cause of death for rapper Coolio has been made public more than six months after he was discovered dead at a friend’s home in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner reported that the 59-year-old hip-hop artist passed away on September 28 after accidental fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine overdose.
The “Gangsta’s Paradise” rapper’s coroner’s report, which was seen by PEOPLE, also mentioned unidentified cardiomyopathy, asthma, and recent phencyclidine use as other important diseases that significantly led to his death.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, a condition known as cardiomyopathy affects the heart muscle and can cause it to stiffen, expand, or thicken, making it more difficult for the heart to circulate blood effectively to the rest of the body. A street drug that induces hallucinations is phencyclidine, usually referred to as PCP.

How Did Coolio Die?
At the time, the reason for his death was unknown, but five months later, TMZ reported that it was an unintentional overdose of fentanyl, a potent, synthetic opioid-based prescription drug. The rapper also showed residues of heroin and methamphetamine in his system.
