It’s official: “Rocky” is headed to Florida. Sylvester Stallone said during Wednesday’s season two premiere of “The Family Stallone” on Paramount+ that he and his wife, Jennifer Flavin Stallone, are leaving California “permanently” for Florida.
“After much thought, your mother and I have decided it is time to move on and leave the state of California permanently,” he informed his daughters Scarlet, Sistine, and Sophia at family dinner. “And, we’re going to Florida.”
“It’s an empty nest,” Jennifer explained. “I need to change it up.” Jennifer, 55, and the 77-year-old film icon were empty nesters when 27-year-old Sophia and 25-year-old Sistine relocated to New York City, while their youngest Scarlet, 21, enrolled at the University of Miami.
“I raised all three of our daughters in California,” Jennifer admitted during a frank interview. “Everything is a memory to me, recollections of them not being present anymore. So I needed to make a significant adjustment, and Sly agreed.
Jennifer filed for divorce from Sylvester in August 2022, and the Stallones decided to relocate to Florida following their reunion. However, a Florida court document showed that the couple opted to “resolve all issues attendant to the dissolution of their marriage in a dignified, amicable, and private manner out-of-court” a month later. The two had been married since May 1997.
During the episode, the “Rambo” actor acknowledged that he was initially opposed to the notion of relocating.
“Our transition to Florida is not simple, as we have many ties to California,” he admitted in a confessional. “However, Jennifer was adamant about it.” I acquiesced.”
Family’s Response
Sistine lauded the relocation as a “terrific idea.” However, Scarlet had a different opinion, later confiding to Jennifer that she could see herself in the house where she spent her childhood years rearing her own children. Scarlet stated, “I intended to take over this house after you guys finished raising my family.”
Sylvester had a “true farewell” meeting with his “Lords of Flatbush” co-stars Jon Lovitz and Henry Winkler later in the episode. He told his former co-stars, “The thing is, I don’t want to shake things up, but I do know that my wife desires great adventure.”

Upon reconnecting with former co-stars, Sylvester commenced to reflect upon his formative years in the film industry. “Leaving California is extremely difficult for me,” the native of New York stated. “That is precisely where I began and where I received my break.”
He later questioned whether his decision to relocate from California to Florida was “the right one.” “The implications are enormous,” he informed Jennifer. “What does it matter if it doesn’t work out?” “The house we had laboriously constructed and adored is no longer there.”
Jennifer consoled her spouse by asserting that she maintained a more optimistic perspective. “New beginnings and memories are createable,” she declared. Sylvester is now determined to experience life in Florida for the sake of Jennifer, stating to the cameras, “I owe it to Jen to go through this move regardless of how I feel.”

Despite his initial reservations regarding relocating to Florida, he is currently enjoying a warm reception in the Sunshine State. Casey DeSantis, the first lady of Florida, expressed her delight on social media regarding the actor’s arrival as the state’s newest resident.
“Welcome to the State of Freedom, Florida!” DeSantis published an entry on X. “Having your God-given, constitutional right to freedom protected and honored also grants you the ability to purchase toothpaste at CVS without the assistance of an armed guard,” the statement continued, accompanied by an uplifting hands emoji.
It has not been Sylvester alone among notable figures to relocate to Florida in recent months. Sean Hannity, a Fox News personality, declared on his program in January that he was leaving New York for the Sunshine State, citing his boredom with the state. Additionally, Inter Miami CF acquired the services of soccer sensation Lionel Messi during the summer, and Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, declared his intention to return to Miami in November.
State economists reported in December that while Florida continues to experience growth by attracting people from across the United States, that growth is expected to decelerate in the coming years due to the aging of the large groups of people who have been migrating to the Sunshine State. Despite this, a Redfin study from March 2023 indicated that Florida continues to be a significant residential destination, with Tampa, Cape Coral, Orlando, and North Port-Sarasota comprising half of the ten most popular locations.
