Haters say she didn’t “work, work, work.” Despite claims that she was paid more than $6 million for the ninety-minute appearance, Rihanna has come under fire for her “lazy” and “boring” performance at an Indian billionaire Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding event.
The 36-year-old singer of “S.O.S.” sang on Friday in front of some of the wealthiest and most influential individuals in the world at the opulent event in Jamnagar, India. Mark Zuckerberg, Ivanka Trump, and Bill Gates are among the guests who have flown into the city for the celebrations.
Ambani, 28, is the youngest child of Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries and the largest business magnate in India. In July, he will tie the knot with his longtime partner Radhika Merchant. Videos of Rihanna performing at the pre-wedding celebration have gone viral, and the celebrity has received a lot of backlash for supposedly performing very little.

A critic on X stated, “She just don’t give a f–k.” A second critic remarked, “Ri is the laziest performer ever!” Taylor Swift even exudes more vitality. Another person claimed, “She got that coin and said, ‘F–k y’all, I’m going to do what I can.'”
She was called a “scammer” by someone else who said she was overpaid and underproductive. A medley of Rihanna’s well-known songs, such as “Umbrella,” “We Found Love,” “Stay,” “Rude Boy,” “Diamonds,” and “Work,” was performed throughout the celebration.
The Return of Rihanna After Years
This weekend marked Rihanna’s return to live performances at an unanticipated venue. On Friday, the Grammy-winning 36-year-old singer performed in Jamnagar, India, in honor of Anant Ambani, the son of Mukesh Ambani, the wealthiest individual in Asia, in advance of their wedding celebrations.
The three-day celebration was organized four months before Ambani’s forthcoming July nuptials. According to The Associated Press, among the nearly 1,200 guests were Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Ivanka Trump. The compensation Rihanna received for her performance is undisclosed, but Mukesh Ambani is estimated to have a net worth of $117 billion, according to Forbes.
Social media platforms offered insights into Rihanna’s performance, which featured cover songs “Stay” and “Umbrella.” Since 2016, this was Rihanna’s initial full-scale concert. In 2023, both the Super Bowl halftime show and the Academy Awards featured her performances.
