The greatest movies of 2023 will get awards at the 96th Academy Awards. To “improve diversity and inclusion,” new guidelines will be included in this edition.
For the 96th Academy Awards, Jimmy Kimmel will serve as host again. Kimmel will present the Oscars for the fourth time this year. It is still unknown who will be nominated for the next award show. But once the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike ended, rumors and forecasts started to circulate.
Jimmy Kimmel To Host The 96th Oscars
It is true that on March 10, 2024, Jimmy Kimmel will host the 96th Academy Awards again. He will present the Oscars for the fourth time this year. American comedian and television host Kimmel has won one Emmy. Prior to the event being host-free from 2019 to 2021, he presided over it in 2017 and 2018. As the show’s executive producer, Molly McNearney, Kimmel’s spouse, will also be back for a second year.
Kimmel’s comeback was revealed by the Academy on November 15. Previously, hosting the ceremony was considered a badge of honor for prominent comedians such as Billy Crystal, who hosted nine times, and Whoopi Goldberg, who served as M.C. four times.
The time commitment and possible reaction that come with hosting, however, have made many celebrities wary. The social media era has been characterized by trash-talking the Oscars because of its awkward repartee, the decisions made by voters, and its very existence.
