Tarek El Moussa, an HGTV star, explained that a 2016 incident in which he left his home following a quarrel with his then-wife Christina Hall and was approached by police in a helicopter along a woodland trail was a misunderstanding.
According to People magazine, the “Flip or Flop” star wrote in his upcoming book, “Flip Your Life: How to Find Opportunity in Distress — in Real Estate, Business, and Life,” that he simply wanted to clear his mind after a heated argument with Hall, so he jumped a fence in his backyard and went for a walk on a trail in Chino Hills State Park behind their house.
He stated that he has a concealed-carry permit and brought his gun as a “insurance policy” because there are mountain lions and bobcats along the trail. Soon, he noticed a helicopter overhead and assumed there was a wildfire. However, it became evident that they were there for him.

He claimed that when the officer yelled his name, he responded, “Yeah! That guy on TV is me! How are you guys getting on?” After leaving, Hall phoned 911 and spent the “next several hours I sat on a cooler on my driveway, handcuffed.”
He continued, “That was the very last time we were together as a family: with Christina walking down the driveway, crying, and me sitting there in handcuffs, asking myself, ‘What in the world is going on?”

Split Up of El Moussa and Christina Hall
After six months, he and Hall made their breakup public. They have a girl named Taylor and a son named Brayden together. In his podcast this month, Jeff Fenster talked about how El Moussa hit “rock bottom” after the divorce and “did not want to be alive.” That was how bad I felt.”
For a while, he said, he lived in a halfway house “because I didn’t trust myself to be alone.”
El Moussa was diagnosed with two types of cancer in the years before his divorce. The hormonal changes caused by his treatments caused him to have anxiety, sadness, panic attacks, and emotional highs and lows, and “ultimately, that turmoil led to my divorce.”
El Moussa finally got married to Heather Rae Young, and they have a boy together named Tristan. Joshua Hall is now married to Hall.
