For the diagnosed individual, it’s difficult. It’s also difficult on the family, and neither Bruce nor I nor our girls are exempt from this. In September 2023, Emma stated, “When they say this is a family disease, it really is.”

She revealed more recently that her mental health has greatly benefited from leaning on her inner network.

“I’m fortunate to surround myself with supportive individuals who can simply listen to me rather than trying to solve my problems. That helps,” she disclosed in a December Instagram post. “On this channel, that inner circle is also present. I needed to be able to establish connections and a sense of community this past year. And you’ve turned up. Individuals from diverse backgrounds with the regrettable commonality binding us together.”
