Cher’s Conservatorship Petition Denied by Court, Elijah Can Handle the Inherited Estate!

On Monday in Los Angeles, Cher’s request for temporary conservatorship over the estate of son Elijah Blue Allman was denied at a hearing.

the Associated Press reported that while Elijah and his legal team attended the hearing in person, the 77-year-old “Believe” singer tuned into the conference remotely and appeared via video screen.

“This morning’s Court decision signifies a substantial victory for the personal liberty and legal autonomy of Mr. Allman,” stated Allman’s legal team in a statement to Fox News Digital. “We, at Cage & Miles, are delighted with the Court’s denial of Cher’s petition for provisional conservatorship.

Allman’s Legal Counsel Outlines the Circumstances

“The Court’s decision emphasizes the idea that conservatorship should be utilized as a last resort and should not be used haphazardly. As the Court pointed out, Cher did not provide enough information to prove that there was a need for a temporary conservatorship.”

“Although we are encouraged by this result, we are aware that the matter is not entirely resolved,” Allman’s legal team went on. On March 6, 2024, the court is set to decide on the issue of a permanent conservatorship. Mr. Allman’s rights will continue to be fiercely defended by our team at Cage & Miles, and we will make sure that he is heard and treated with respect at every stage of this procedure.”

Cher’s Conservatorship Petition

A conservatorship over her son’s estate was requested by Cher in December, following reports that the singer had abducted Allman in November 2022 and taken him to a rehab facility.

Her 47-year-old son, she said in the court order, was unable to manage his finances because of “severe mental health and substance abuse issues.” She was also concerned that his late father, singer Gregg Allman, may spend the trust he had set up on drugs, “leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”

Earlier this month, her petition to be appointed conservator was denied. Allman objected to his mother’s request to be appointed temporary conservator in response to Cher’s petition, stating that he was not only reconciling with King but also did not feel secure with his mother handling his finances.

In recently obtained court documents by TMZ, Elijah and his spouse, Marieangela King, explain why they don’t require their mother to act as conservator of their inheritance. In the process, they criticize Cher and make some very grave charges.

Elijah says he’s clean now, he pays his bills, and he’s determined to handle the quarterly funds he receives from the trust that his late father, the renowned musician Greg Allman, established.

In the documents, Elijah’s wife goes a step further and claims that Cher effectively planned Elijah’s kidnapping and forced him to be detained against his will at a rehab center in Mexico.
