The actor Gary Graham, who starred in “Alien Nation” and “Star Trek: Enterprise,” is no longer with us.
The actor passed away on Monday in a Spokane, Washington, hospital following cardiac arrest, according to his wife of almost 25 years, Becky Graham, who spoke to Fox News Digital. Graham claims that although her husband had a history of cardiac issues, the two days he spent in intensive care came on quickly. His age was 73 years.
“I always say he was my knight in shining armor, and I was his port in the storm,” said Becky. She went on, “He was loved by many people.”
Graham’s most prominent recurring role in the “Star Trek” universe was that of Ambassador Soval on “Star Trek: Enterprise.” His tenure on the program was from 2001 until 2005. In 1995, he portrayed Tanis in a “Star Trek: Voyager” episode and Ragnar in two Star Trek projects, “Star Trek: Of Gods and Men” and “Star Trek: Renegades.”
Loved Ones Left Behind
Divorce was the result of Mr. Graham’s union with Susan Lavelle and Diane Graham. Mr. Graham is further survived by Haylee Graham, his daughter from his previous union with Ms. Lavelle; Colleen Bertucci and Jeannine Michele Graham, his sisters; and Scott and Steve Deer, two stepchildren from his previous union with Ms. Graham.
Putting Some Light on Gary Graham’s Career
His first regular part in a series was in the “Alien Nation” franchise, which debuted with the 1988 picture starring Terence Stamp, Mandy Patinkin, and James Caan. Fox adapted it in 1989 as a television series about extraterrestrials adjusting to life in Los Angeles and attempting to blend in. Mr. Graham was cast as Matthew Sikes, the human detective previously played by Mr. Caan in the film. He was cast alongside Eric Pierpoint as George Francisco, a “Newcomer,” as members of the alien species were known.
The show only aired for one season, but it was resurrected for several television movies, including “Alien Nation: Dark Horizon” in 1994 and “Alien Nation: Body and Soul” in 1995.

Mr. Graham also portrayed Soval, a Vulcan ambassador to Earth, in 12 episodes of “Star Trek: Enterprise,” a prequel to the original series. Mr. Graham had previous expertise with the “Star Trek” series. He had also played Tanis, an Ocampa species member, in an episode of “Star Trek: Voyager.”
Mr. Graham, like previous noteworthy portrayals of Vulcans, such as Leonard Nimoy’s Spock, expertly showed a race that practiced emotion suppression and relied on rationality as a fundamental motivator of life. Following “Enterprise,” Mr. Graham participated in unofficial “Star Trek” fan-produced productions, such as the 2007 film “Star Trek: Of Gods And Men.”
Gary Rand Graham was born in Long Beach, California, on June 7, 1950, and raised in Anaheim, California. His father, Ralph Graham, was a surgeon, while his mother, Rosemary (Taggert), was a housewife.
