Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, has come under fire for allegedly having a sexual relationship with Nathan Wade, the man she recruited to handle the election subversion case of former President Donald Trump in Georgia.
With Wade serving as a special prosecutor, Willis is spearheading the criminal racketeering case against Trump for his purported attempts to reverse his defeat in the 2020 election in the state. The front-runner in the GOP race, Donald Trump, entered a not-guilty plea to the 41-count indictment and refuted any misconduct.

Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the case and a former Trump campaign staffer, submitted a court motion on Monday accusing Willis of working with Wade, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Roman was accused of taking part in a plot to rig the 2020 election in an attempt to reverse Trump’s loss, and he was charged with seven charges in 2023.
In a motion submitted on his behalf, it is requested that the accusations against him be dropped and that Willis and other staff members be excluded from the case due to the alleged affair—referred to in the filing as “an improper, clandestine personal relationship.”
The 127-page filing also alleges that Wade and Willis traveled to Napa Valley, California, Florida, and the Caribbean on excursions funded by fees Wade received for his work on the Trump case. In addition, it asserts that they allegedly cohabited without providing any evidence to substantiate these claims. Additionally, Willis and Wade are accused in the petition of “substantially benefiting from this prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers.” Wade reportedly received legal fees totaling $654,000 for his services in the case, as reported by multiple sources.
