Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has published the ASI Syllabus, Written Test Scheme, Skill Test, and Physical Test (PET, PST) Information for ASI (Steno) positions at www.cisf.gov.in.scpsassam team has provided the comprehensive selection procedure for the recently advertised position.
Applicants must complete all phases of the Recruitment process for which they are eligible. If a candidate does not participate in any of the events, including the written, PST, skill test, or DME, he will be qualified.
The schedule for the PST written examination is currently unavailable to the public. When you receive your CISF admission card, you may verify this information. Exams will be administered in the following order:

Physical Standard Test (PST) for ASI Steno Posts administered by the CISF
This is the initial phase of the recruitment and selection procedure. In this phase, the candidate’s eligibility requirements (height and weight) are measured. Former Servicemen Candidates are not required to take the PST because they are typically anticipated to be in peak physical condition.

Minimum Qualifying Scores on the CISF Written Examination: Candidates who pass the PST will be required to pass the following minimum scores on the written examination:
- Overall: 35%.
- 33% SC, ST, and OBC.
Important points to consider for the written examination:
- The Written Examination will consist of objective-type questions.
- The Written Exam will consist of 100 points.
- There will be no negative scoring on this CISF examination.
- The Exam will consist of 100 questions. Each carries a single mark.
- Two hours (120 minutes) is the utmost amount of time permitted to complete the assignment.
- The examination question paper will be accessible in both English and Hindi.
- There will be questions from the matriculation level. Therefore, we advise aspirants to study the 10th-grade curriculum.
- There will be no reevaluation of OMR documents if you are dissatisfied with the outcome.
CISF ASI Steno Test Specifics, 2023
Candidates who pass the written examination will be required to take the Skill Test, which is essentially the Stenography test. The Shorthand Dictation time limit for ASI positions is 10 minutes.
For a 10-minute dictation, 80 words per minute would yield approximately 800 words for transcription and subsequent typing. Computerized transcription will take 50 minutes in English and 65 minutes in Hindi.

CISF Comprehensive Medical Exam (DME)
Once the merit list has been released. A category-specific medical examination will be administered to the selected candidates. After the DME, there will be a Review Medical Examination (RME). Listed below are the CISF medical requirements for ASI (Steno):

i. Visual Requirement:
Unaided Visual Acuity (near vision).
- Better vision – N6.
- Poorest vision – N9.
(Distance vision) visual acuity that is uncorrected.
- Better vision 6/6.
- Worst Eye-6/9.
Visual correction of any kind, even with spectacles, is prohibited.
Vision in color: CP III by ISIHARA.
Note
Right-handed individuals have a superior right eye, and vice versa. In addition, binocular vision is required.
ii. Candidates may not have crooked knees, flat feet, varicose veins, or squinting eyes. The applicant must be in appropriate mental and physical health. He must not have any physical defect that could impede his ability to perform his duties effectively.
Tatto Policy of the CISF Similar to the CRPF Physical Exam, the following tattoo policies apply to CISF Recruitment:
- Only the left arm, the non-saluting hand, may contain a tattoo. Only tattoos on the inner aspect of the forearm (kohni) should be permitted. It is not permitted on the palms of the hands.
- The size of the tattoo must not exceed one-fourth of the specified body part, such as the elbow or hand.
- If a candidate has a scar from tattoo removal, he or she will be permitted to take the test as long as the scar does not hinder the candidate’s physical performance.
- Instructions regarding tattoos are only pertinent during recruitment.
