George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal created the fantasy television series “House of the Dragon” for HBO. It is the second TV show in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” franchise and acts as a prequel to “Game of Thrones.” Based on Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” the television series takes place 100 years after the Targaryen Conquest and depicts the events that led to House Targaryen’s demise and the “Dance of the Dragons” war.
In August 2022, the first season debuted to good reviews and was lauded for its character and visual effects work. It received nominations and honors, including a Golden Globe for Best Dramatic Television Series. The second season will debut in the middle of 2024. In the made-up realm of Westeros, the show delves into the past of the Targaryen dynasty, dragons, and political strife.
