‘Hairy Bikers’ TV Chef Dave Myers Dies of Cancer Revealed by His Mate King!

Dave Myers, better known as one-half of the Hairy Bikers, has perished at the age of 66 from cancer, according to an announcement made by his co-star, Si King.

Alongside King, his thirty-year companion, Myers rose to prominence as a member of the motorcycle-riding cooking duo. In 2013, he gained new followers by competing in Strictly Come Dancing alongside Karen Hauer and advancing to week seven of the BBC competition.

The statement issued by King read: “I regret to inform you of some unfortunate information. As the majority of you are aware, Dave has been battling illness for the last two years. On February 28, 2024, as I was present alongside Lili, Dave’s spouse, his family, and his close friend David, he passed away in a tranquil manner at home last night.

“The loss of Dave has devastated everyone who knew him.” Dave was as happy as the children of his cherished wife, Iza, and Sergiu, whom he regarded as his own.

“At this moment, I am at a loss for the appropriate words to express my emotions. I am presently unable to follow the voyage that my best friend is on. Every day, I will grieve the loss of our connection and friendship, which spanned more than fifty years. Brother, best of luck; you have always been and will continue to be a beacon in this universe. Until we meet again on the other side. “I adore you.”

Myers, who was born in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, disclosed his cancer diagnosis and treatment in May 2022. He declined to provide a specific diagnosis but explained to the Guardian that this was due to the fact that “everyone then goes on Google and becomes an amateur doctor […]” Furthermore, I wish to avoid being evaluated.”

The Duo of King and Myers

Myers first encountered King in 1995 while working as a prosthetics specialist make-up artist on a BBC television drama set. In 2004, the two made their television debut together on the BBC’s “The Hairy Bikers’ Cookbook.” During the show, they travel to Portugal and Namibia among other nations, trying local cuisine and tasting samples.

They went on to film countless more episodes in various parts of the world, including cities along Route 66 in the United States, Argentina, and Vietnam. In “Hairy Dieters: How To Love Food And Lose Weight,” Myers and King also chronicled their weight loss and gave their diet club health advice and food ideas.

Myers took a brief hiatus from work after learning he had cancer before recording “The Hairy Bikers Go West,” his final production with King. They journey from Scotland to Devon along Britain’s west coast in the currently aired show. Myers was the stepfather of Liliana Orzac’s two children, Sergiu and Iza, and he was married to her.
