Additionally, the character actor from New York was recognized for his roles in “Entourage,” “Sex and the City,” and “This Is Us.” Character actor Eddie Driscoll, whose credits include Mad Men, Entourage, Sex and the City, and This Is Us, has passed away. He had reached age 60.
Driscoll succumbed to a saddle pulmonary embolism in Los Angeles on December 15, following a protracted battle against gastric cancer spanning several months. Tuesday (27 February) marked the confirmation of his demise via his podcast The Jimmy Palumbo Show, which was hosted by fellow actor and friend Jimmy Palumbo.
Edward Driscoll, who was born on September 26, 1963, in New York, attended Lenape Valley Regional High School in Stanhope, New Jersey. The year of his graduation was 1981. Following this, he attended the University of Miami to study acting and the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre in North Palm Beach, Florida, for an apprenticeship. During his time at the Institute, Reynolds himself instructed acting stalwarts such as Carol Burnett, Charles Nelson Reilly, Dom DeLuise, and Reynolds himself.

Reynolds facilitated Driscoll’s first film role, which was in the 1989 criminal thriller Physical Evidence, directed by Michael Crichton and starring Reynolds, Theresa Russell, and Ned Beatty, due to Reynolds’s great admiration for him. Reynolds and Driscoll collaborated on many additional productions, including the 1989 crime comedy Breaking In and the 1990 television series B.L. Stryker and Evening Shade (1990-93).

On television, he was noted for brief roles in Sex and the City (as “Fendi Man”), Mad Men (as Meehan), Entourage as a detective, and 24 as a secret service agent. Driscoll also had a recurring part as East Coast leader Randall Croft on the TNT sci-fi series The Last Ship (2016), and he played loan shark Angelo “Gyp” DeCarlo in a West Coast touring version of Jersey Boys.
Driscoll appeared in several TV episodes, including Days of Our Lives, Tracey Takes On, The King of Queens, Cold Case, Heroes, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Medium, Heroes, and Desperate Housewives. His filmography includes Lansky (1999), Boat Trip (2002), Pavement (2002), Cellular (2004), and Blast (2004).

Off-screen, Driscoll was a long-time host at Burbank’s Dimples karaoke bar, which has since closed. On Instagram, Dimples’ former employees paid tribute to Driscoll, writing: “He was the funniest and most skilled person that ever worked at Dimples, despite being fired 9 times (How dare you! – he would have said and then corrected me to inform me it was more than 9).
“He never turned down the opportunity to dress up and be controversial. He had the nicest costume. He would be deeply missed by many individuals, particularly the Dimples family. He is survived by his friends and family, notably his brother Danny.
