The Old Man’ Set to Return for Season 2 on FX!

Jeff Bridges will return to television screens after FX announced the renewal of “The Old Man” for a second season.

The drama series, which features Bridges alongside John Lithgow and Amy Brenneman, has been greenlit for another run following its successful debut.

Based on Thomas Perry’s bestselling book, the show premiered on June 16 to strong viewership numbers both on linear TV and digital platforms. It was the most-watched cable series premiere since January 2021, surpassing numerous other dramas, comedies, and limited series. Additionally, it became the most-watched FX series debut on Hulu during its opening weekend.

The series follows Dan Chase (played by Bridges), a former CIA operative who has been living off the grid for years. When an assassin targets Chase, he realizes that to secure his future, he must confront his past. As Chase evades capture, FBI Assistant Director Harold Harper (played by Lithgow) is tasked with tracking him down, assisted by his protégé Angela Adams (Alia Shawkat) and CIA Special Agent Raymond Waters (E.J. Bonilla). Along the way, highly trained operative Julian Carson (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is sent to pursue Chase.
