Dakota Johnson’s appearance on The Office left her feeling less than thrilled. The Madame Web actress had a cameo appearance in the 2013 NBC series finale as Dakota, a Dunder Mifflin accountant who takes Kevin’s (Brian Baumgartner) spot. Even though Dakota loved the show a lot at the time, she had a terrible time filming it.
She said, “That was honestly the worst time of my life,” when she appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers on February 8. “You know, like, ‘Do you want to be in the series finale?'” And I thought, ‘Of course,’ anticipating that I would be there for about three hours. I spent two weeks there. I’m hardly even in the f–king show, too.”
The 34-year-old also said that there seemed to be “weird dynamics that had been going on for the last 10 years” on the set.

Dakota went on, “Some people didn’t talk to each other.” Nobody desired to converse with me. Nobody was concerned.”
The Office’s Nine Outstanding Seasons
The Office, which premiered by Steve Carrell, John Krasinski, and Jena Fischer, aired for a total of nine seasons between 2005 and 2013. Steve, who departed the series in 2011, made a brief reappearance in the final episode to attend Dwight and Angela’s (Rainn Wilson and Angela Kinsey) wedding.
Additional celebrities who appeared in the season finale were Joan Cusack, Rachael Harris, Ed Begley Jr., and yes, even Seth Meyers.
Dakota was informed by Seth, “The f–king Office is to blame,” following his comprehension of her set experience. “It’s not your fault.”
The Fifty Shades of Grey alum concurred as well. Dakota replied with a quip, “It is their fault.”

Johnson said she could be seen “in the background of all of these scenes faxing things,” but she didn’t have much screen time after all that. Two years before to her breakthrough performance as Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” she had an appearance on “The Office.”
Johnson’s “Office” cameo was supposed to build up a spin-off that she would feature in, according to a 2021 Hollywood Reporter profile. However, the show never materialized.
Dakota Johnson’s “SNL” opening monologue was interrupted by Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake
She said to the Reporter at the time, “If everything else just falls away, maybe you’ll find me in that ‘Office’ spinoff that no one wants to watch.” “I’m not sure how creatively that could have worked for me. I’ve discovered that when something succeeds, people just keep trying to squeeze the last drop of value out of the narrative. Things must occasionally come to an end when they should.”
In a 2022 Vanity Fair career retrospective, Johnson reflected on her “Office” performance and said that the episode felt like “crashing someone’s birthday party when they didn’t mean to invite me.”
