The New Look is an upcoming American biographical drama TV show for Apple TV+ that was made by Todd A. Kessler. A second season is being planned. Jack Antonoff, winner of a Grammy Award, produced the modern and immersive soundtrack for The New Look series. It includes covers of popular songs from the early to mid-20th century by artists such as Bleachers, Florence Welch, Lana Del Rey, Matty Healy (1975), Beabadoobee, Nick Cave, Perfume Genius, and more.

The New Look Release Date
They started filming the first season in Paris in May 2022. The show will be released on February 14, 2024, with episodes. After that, one episode will air every Wednesday until April 3, 2024. The second season was supposed to start shooting in November 2023, but the SAG-AFTRA strike happened instead.

The New Look Storyline
The New Look takes place in France during World War II when the Nazis occupied the country. The Apple TV+ drama follows Christian Dior’s (Ben Mendelsohn) rapid rise to fame and how his groundbreaking designs helped heal people all over the world. He ended Coco Chanel’s (Juliet Binoche) impressive rule and took over world fashion in the decade after the war. The drama series is based on true events. The lives of Dior’s many competitors, like Pierre Cardin and Balmain, are woven together.
The interwoven saga tells the surprising stories of Dior’s peers and rivals, such as Chanel, Pierre Balmain, Cristóbal Balenciaga, and others. It also gives a stunning look into Christian Dior’s atelier, designs, and clothes through his work with the House of Dior.

Ben Mendelsohn as Christian Dior
Ben Mendelsohn plays Christian Dior, who became the new king of fashion with designs that made his competitors look bad. From 1986 to 1987, Ben played Warren Murphy on Neighbours. In 2005, he played Rob in The Secret Life of Us. He has been in Captain Marvel, The Dark Knight Rises, and Ready Player One. In Rogue One, he also killed Orson Krennic.

Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel
Juliette Binoche plays Coco Chanel, a fashion icon. Juliette was only 23 years old when she played the lead role in The Unbearable Lightness of Being in 1988. She then played Cathy in the 1992 movie version of Wuthering Heights. She got an Oscar for best supporting actress for her role as Hana in The English Patient (1996), which starred Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas. In the 2000 movie Chocolat, she won our hearts as the sweet chocolatier Vianne.
Glenn Close as Carmel Snow
Carmel Snow, the famous editor-in-chief of the famous fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar, will be played by Glenn Close. Of course, Glenn is best known for her famous part in Fatal Attraction.

Maisie Williams plays Catherine Dior, John Malkovich plays Lucien Lelon, Emily Mortimer plays Elsa Lombardi, and Claes Bang plays Spatz. The whole cast is great.
