Tarantino to Depart Filmmaking After ‘The Movie Critic’, Brad Pitt Could Be in Lead Roles!

Brad Pitt will probably collaborate with Quentin Tarantino once more on “The Movie Critic,” the filmmaker’s tenth and ostensibly final film. The agreement’s current status is unknown.

Regarding “The Movie Critic,” Quentin Tarantino has maintained a tight-lipped status; however, it is said to be set in 1970s southern California and revolve around a cynical film critic. It is rumored to have been inspired by the life of the late New Yorker writer and highly influential cinema critic Pauline Kael.

Tarantino’s Statement Over “The Movie Critic”

In response to questions regarding “The Movie Critic” during a 2023 conversation at the Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino stated, “I cannot reveal anything to you until you see the film.” Although I am currently compelled to perform some of the character’s monologues, I have decided against it. Perhaps with a reduced number of surveillance video cameras. Simply wait and see what transpires.”

Tarantino is Departing From Filmmaking

After ten films, Tarantino has stated he will depart from feature filmmaking; therefore, The Movie Critic would be his final film. It is said to be situated in Southern California during the 1970s and was inspired by a cynical film critic novel that Quentin Tarantino read as a child.

The production is currently unaffiliated with a studio and will be shot in California. Tarantino produced Once Upon a Time in Hollywood on behalf of Sony, and for both direction and writing he received Oscar nominations. Prominent actors are known to populate Quentin Tarantino’s films, so talent is likely to be extremely interested, given that this may be their final opportunity to appear in one of the filmmaker’s features.

Pitt last starred in the 2022 films Bullet Train and Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, both directed by David Leitch. Coming soon is the feature film Wolves, directed by Jon Watts and reuniting Brad Pitt with his Ocean’s 11 co-star George Clooney.

Pitt starred in the Hollywood drama Babylon and the action film Bullet Train most recently. Next, he’ll be featured in the Apple thriller Wolfs, starring opposite George Clooney. Alongside Javier Bardem and Damson Idris, he is also acting in an untitled Formula One film directed by Joseph Kosinski, the man behind Top Gun: Maverick.
