Recently, the prolific rapper and advocate for equity Snoop Dogg has changed his tenor regarding former President Trump. Snoop Dogg, 52, praised former President Trump in a recent interview, revering his longstanding stance of condemnation towards the president and his supporters.
“Washington, Donald Trump?…. He has committed no wrongdoing against me. He has only bestowed upon me great goods. Michael Harris was granted clemency, Snoop Dogg stated to The Sunday Times.
“So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”
As one of the last acts taken by President Trump before he departs from office in 2021, Michael “Harry-O” Harris, an associate of Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight and the inventor of the label’s parent company Godfather Entertainment, was granted a pardon. The label infamously signed Snoop Dogg, only to release him later in his career. It was obtained by him in 2022.

For more than three decades, Harris was incarcerated on charges of conspiracy and attempted assassination. During that period, Snoop Dogg expressed admiration for Trump’s condemnation of Harris. The rapper expressed admiration for their actions to the New York Post. “That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out.”
The rapper’s new remarks are very different from the criticism he frequently directed at the former president and his allies when Trump was president. In the 2017 music video for “Lavender,” Snoop Dogg shot President Trump in the head and portrayed him as a clown.

The rapper called out Trump and his supporters in a 2020 video clip posted to social media by XXL Magazine, captioned, “Donald Trump is an f—ing weirdo.” I wouldn’t mind if you cast your vote for him. However, f— you if you’re still with him.”
Snoop Dogg has long been vocal about his political views. Before Barack Obama and Mitt Romney faced off in the 2012 presidential race, he posted a list on Instagram outlining his reasons for voting for the former Illinois senator rather than the former governor of Massachusetts. It attracted a lot of interest.
Snoop Dogg declined to say definitively when asked if he would take a similar action if Trump and Joe Biden were the candidates running for president this year.
He said to The Sunday Times, “I might have to.” “Because there are mixed views on that, so I want to see what the people say…”
